Strong Showing From Lady Raiders Linksters

Sidney’s Lady Raider Golf team has had a solid September, with top five finishes as they work to close the gap between between the area’s leading teams, Gering and Scottsbluff.

On September 12, the girls traveled to Scenic Knolls Golf Club for the Mitchell Invite, and were able to turn in a solid third place performance behind top finisher Gering and runner-up Scottsbluff. Sidney senior Amanda Beier shot a 103, just missing out on a top 10 finish.

She was followed by junior Ashlee Ringleman with a 105, Karsyn Huck with a 108, and McKenzie Moore with a 115 for a total score of 431.

On September 17, the girls were able to cut down on their strokes significantly, turning in a round of 400 and taking fifth place at the Gering Invite. Gering placed first with a score of 320 and Scottsbluff took second with a score of 331. Beier and Ringleman both had rounds of 97, while Moore and Huck finished with rounds of 103 each. Creek Valley Lady Storm golfer Jordan Bocock also participated in the tournament, shooting a 119 in her round.

Sidney faced a bump in the level of competition, but responded well with a round of 410 which earned them fifth place at the Ogallala Invite on September 24.

Crandall Creek Golf Club hosted the event, which was won by a strong North Platte squad that turned in a round of 332. Scottsbluff was the runner up with a score of 347, edging out Gering’s third place round of 349.
