Allen Dean 'Butch' McGee - Obituary

Allen Dean “Butch” McGee, age 74 of San Diego, CA, and a former Sidney, NE resident, passed away at his home in San Diego, CA on Thursday, August 15, 2019.  Cremation has been held.  There will be a private Inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, NE on October 4, 2019.  Gehrig-Stitt Chapel and Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of the arrangements. Allen McGee was born in Salina, KS on December 8, 1944 to Allen & Mabel McGee.  The family later moved to Sidney, NE where Allen attended Sidney Public Schools.  He was employed at The Egging Company for 46 years until his retirement in 2013.  He then moved to San Diego to spend his retirement with his wife, Cam.  Allen loved spending time with his family at his vacation home at Lake McConaughy where he also enjoyed fishing and boating.

Allen is survived by his wife, Camelia of San Diego, CA; children: Troy McGee and wife Amanda of League City, TX, Tammy Newburn and husband Craig of Dallas, TX, Marcella McGee of Allen, TX, Shawn Banks and wife Peggy of San Diego, CA, Curtis Banks and wife Lee of Woodstock, GA; 6 grandchildren: Tanessa Kubat, Trevor Nolde, Marlo McGee, Tyler Banks, Walker Banks, Caden Banks; 1 great- grandchild, Alaina Nolde; 1 brother, Gary McGee  and wife Corinne; 1 sister, Leanna Petersen and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
