LCC Provides Supplies for Kids in Need

The Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Cheyenne County project for this year teamed up with Community Action Partnership to collect and distribute school supplies for children in need in the Cheyenne County area. The effort produced 75 backpacks filled with school supplies for the upcoming year that the Community Action Partnership started distributing last week, and had enough leftover supplies to donate to the Sidney area schools.

Leadership Cheyenne County's Nick Hays commented on the success of the project, saying, "In addition to the 75 backpacks and supplies distributed, we were also able to donate 6 backpacks to the local CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) group for their volunteers and stuffed them with kids items courtesy of Play It Again Sams, so the volunteers had some items to bond with the kids when they did their visits."

LCC is one of many community-focused programs offered by the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce, and works with other organizations to help the citizens of the Sidney area.
