Ronald L. "Ron" Statler of Greeley, CO and former Sidney resident, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Kimball County Manor in Kimball.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 20th in the Chappell Cemetery. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 11:00 until noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family for future designation. Ronald Lee "Ron" Statler was born on July 4,1939 to Herbert William and Florence Katherine (Wunnenberg) Statler in Sidney, NE. After graduating from Sidney High School in 1957, Ron moved to Colorado to begin a successful career in business management. In 1965 Ron married Judy Hakenkamp in Denver, CO and they had two sons. Ron & Judy divorced in 1977.
Ron met the love of his life "Chyrl McAuley" and they married on April 5, 1980. Through this marriage he became a stepfather to Chyrl's two sons.
Ron's quick-witted comments will be greatly missed. He loved gospel music, his country, fishing and playing cards. In 1982 he had a born-again experience at the Church of God in Greeley and attended Greeley First Assembly of God in his later years.
Ron is survived by his wife, Chyrl of Greeley, CO, three sons Brad Statler from St. George, UT; Todd Statler from Goodyear, AZ; Eric McAuley from Vona, CO; and four grandchildren, Brittany, Bryce, Justin and Nicole Statler.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gary Statler and a son, Lance McAuley
