Serving proudly since 1873 as the beautiful Nebraska Panhandle's first newspaper
The West Nebraska Archery Association and Box Butte Archery club have announced they will be holding the annual Wildcat Hills 3D Shoot Fundraiser on June 15.
The event will be held in the Wildcat Hills approximately two miles up Old Stage Hill Road off of Highway 71, south of Gering. Watch for the sign on Highway 71 and markers along Old Stage Hill Road. The start location is just past the parking area at the top of the hill.
This year, the organizers have arranged the course to be easier to navigate, with less steep hills to climb while still providing challenging shots for the participants.
The change was enacted to make the event more enjoyable for both younger and older shooters. All targets will be realistic shooting situations ranging from 20 to 50 yards. We will allow the use of range finders this year, so please bring your equipment if you wish.
The first of two rounds of 20 targets starts at 8 AM, with the stakes being moved for the second round starting at 10 AM. Please arrive on time to shoot both rounds, and the cost is $20 for adults and $10 for youths under 14 years of age.
There will be no lunch served, so please bring your own food if you would like to eat. Water will be provided at the start and midway through the course provided by the sponsors. For more information on the event please call Mike Thompson at 308-631-3096 or Joe Poncelet at 308-641-0322.
