Fischer, Sasse, and Fortenberry Offices To Host Service Academy Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senators Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), and Representative Jeff Fortenberry (R-Neb.) have announced the 2019 Service Academy Day will take place on Saturday, May 25, in Bellevue. The event will help young people in Nebraska learn more about the nomination process to the U.S. Service Academies.

The Service Academy Day will be held at Bellevue University in the John B. Muller Administrative Building, 1000 Galvin Road South in Bellevue. Parking will be available on the north side of the building. You may enter through the north entrance.

Schedule is as follows:

9:00 - CHECK-IN/REGISTRATION - Military representatives will be available before formal program.

9:30 - WELCOME by Roger Lempke, Senator Fischer’s Office

9:35 - SERVICE ACADEMY NOMINATION PROCESS by Senator Fischer’s Office

10:00 - CONGRESSIONAL APPLICATION PROCESS by Jim Kuester, Senator Sasse’s Office

10:15 - CONGRESSIONAL APPLICATION PROCESS by Jeanne Walker, Rep. Fortenberry’s Office

10:30 - U.S. MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY, Chase Kratochvil, Senator Fischer’s Office

10:45 - U.S. MILITARY ACADEMY information from a Military Academy representative

11:00 - BREAK -

11:15 - U.S. COAST GUARD ACADEMY, Coast Guard Academy Representative

11:30 - U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY, Naval Academy Representative

Representatives from the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about opportunities each offer. Representatives from the offices of Senator Fischer, Senator Sasse, and Representative Fortenberry will also be in attendance to answer questions about the Service Academy nomination process.
