Henke Selected as Scholarship Recipient

Destinee Henke is the recipient of the Cheyenne County Family and Community Education (FCE) College Scholarship for the 2019-2020 school year. Destinee is the daughter of Kevin and Amy Henke of Dalton.

Henke plans to attend Southeast Community College in Lincoln in the fall and major in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. As a Leyton High School student, Destinee participated in several activities and received many awards including:

• Activities: volleyball, basketball, track, Letterman's Club, dance, band, Student Council, class officer, speech,4-H, and FFA.

• Awards: Speech Class Academic Award, Minuteman Activities Conference Academic "A" Honor Roll 2 years, Chadron State College Scholastic Competitions – Algebra I, English Usage, Algebra II, Certificate of Excellence in Spanish I, Scholarship Award Ag Class, English 10 Academic Award, and Algebra II Academic Award.

The mission of the National Association for Family and Community Education is to strengthen individuals, families, and communities through continuing education, leadership development, and community service. The Cheyenne County FCE organization awards one college scholarship each year to a resident of the county or the graduate of a county high school who plans to major in a human science related field.
