Work has resumed the Phase 2 project on US-385 through Dalton, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Simon Contractors Inc., of Cheyenne, Wyoming, has the $2.6 million contract. Work will include concrete construction, earthwork grading, pavement markings, and sodding. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers and lane closures during daytime hours as needed. Anticipated completion is end of May 2019.
NDOT says weather permitting, work will begin May 1, on I-80 Potter to Brownson, from Reference Post 35.17 to Reference Post 46.81.
Iowa Civil Contracting, Inc., of Victor Iowa, has the $1,501,986 contract. Work will include bridge deck and approach repair, concrete pavement repair and concrete sealer including the ramps at the Potter exit 38.
There will be a 14-foot width restriction in place during the daytime work, and a 24-hour lane closure setup at the bridges at Reference Post 38 using concrete protection barriers to direct traffic over the bridges. Anticipated completion is September 2019.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously through work zones, and to expect delays.
