Sidney senior Janay Brauer has signed on with North Platte Community College to play basketball for the Lady Knights starting next fall.
The Sidney standout brings athleticism and leadership skills to a North Platte team under the direction of second-year head coach Jeff Thurman looking to return to the NJCAA Division II Tournament.
Brauer has been a driving force in the recent success of the Lady Raiders, leading the team to three straight State Tournament appearances. An offensive threat from both inside and outside, Brauer is also known as an outstanding defensive player and coach Thurman looks for her to make an immediate impact on the team. Brauer will be teammates with former Potter-Dix standout and NPCC student Trinity Langley.
"Janay is athletic and has great basketball skills, and we're looking forward to her helping the team get even better," said coach Thurman.
Brauer plans on studying Physical Therapy at NPCC starting in the fall.
