Cowboy Brad and the TropiCowboy Band in Sidney April 12

"Take Me Home Country Roads," and "Rocky Mountain High" are two of the songs fans may enjoy during the April 12 concert in Sidney featuring Cowboy Brad and the TropiCowboy band.

Raised in Estes Park, Colo., "Cowboy" Brad Fitch has been playing professionally since he was 15 years go. He specializes in original folk and western music. He is also known for his performances of John Denver music.

In 2001, he performed for then-President George W. Bush during the President's stop in Colorado. In 2006, he was presented the outstanding community service award by the Estes Park Sunrise Rotary Club. In 2008, he performed during the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

For more than 10 years, he has performed John Denver tribute concerts to benefit the Rocky Mountain Nature Association, the Estes Park Lions Club events, the City of Fort Collins and numerous other events.

He is also a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

"The purpose of my music is to have fun and share that with others," he says. "If my music takes you to a pleasant place in your heart or your mind, then I have accomplished my purpose."

Cowboy Brad and his band will be on stage in Sidney 7 p.m. Friday, April 12. The concert will be at the Sidney High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for students (including Western Nebraska Community College students) and children under five are free. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce in Sidney.

This concert will be unique in that it is also a dinner event. The Cheyenne County 4-H youth will be offering a pulled pork dinner in the Sidney High School Commons Area prior to the concert. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. A dinner of a pulled-pork sandwich, baked beans, au gratin potatoes, dessert and a drink for $7. Proceeds from the dinner will be applied to the cost for seven 4-H members to take part in the Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) trip in June.

The CWF is 4-H's premier leadership and citizenship program for high school students.
