The results of the 2019 Cheyenne County Art Guild Annual Show were announced Wednesday.
About 100 people attended the 2 ½ day event in downtown Sidney.
Best of Show goes to Ron Nordyke with an acrylic work called "Approved." People's Choice goes to Cindi Egging with a pastel titled "Bending Another Tune." Second place goes to JoAnn Guenther with "Sunrise Hideaway."
Awards by category include Portrait/Landscape: "Dee" acrylic by Ron Nordyke in first place and "Bending Another Tune" pastel by Cindi Egging in second place. Both are advanced entries.
Landscape/Interior category first place goes to Ben Darling with watercolor "Challen Spring," and Cindi Egging in second place with pastel "Sanctuary."
The Still-life/Flower category category has Tish Treinen in first place with watercolor "Geraniums," and "The Grass Withers, The Flowers Fade Isaiah 40:8" in watercolor by Cindi Egging.
In the Animals/Wildlife category, Margaret Evans earned first place with a "Snow Geese Vortex" photograph. Ron Nordyke came in second with his "Eagle Horse" acrylic.
The Abstract/Experimental category first place went to Ron Nordyke with a mixed media entitled "Transportation Upgrade." Second place went to Laura Naughton with mixed media "Overcoming Obstacles."
No beginner entries were in the above categories.
Several entries earned Honorable Mention: Jane Easterly's "Mama's Sand" pastel, Cindi Egging's "Splashes of Diamond Light" pastel, "Free Indeed" acrylic by Ron Nordyke, "Capielaw Lane 2" watercolor by Ben Darling, "Parched" acrylic by Ron Nordyke, "Glen Finnian" watercolor by Ben Darling, "Kayaker's Paradise" oil by JoAnn Guenther, "Follow the Leader" photograph by Chuck Borcher, "One in a Thousand" oil by Jane Easterly, "Requium of Crosses" acrylic by Ron Nordyke, "Tally Ho Girl" oil by Jane Easterly and "Sandhill Cranes" photograph by Margaret Evans.
