The Minuteman Athletic Conference (MAC) released the names of their All-Conference selections for the 2018-19 girls and boys basketball season, and several area athletes were among the honorees.
For the girls, Leyton junior Madelyn Watchorn was selected to the All-Conference First Team. Watchorn averaged 18.3 points per game and led the Lady Warriors to 13-and-9 overall record. The other selections to the first team are Autumn Dickmander and Caroline Stanley from South Platte, and Kylie Stuart and Liz Marker from Bayard.
Leyton sophomore Ella Draper was named to the All-Conference Second Team. Draper averaged 10.8 points per game and was the Lady Warrior's most effective long-range shooter. Creek Valley junior Catie Koenen was also named to the All-Conference Second Team. Koenen averaged 9.3 points per game.
Leyton senior Danielle Higgins and Potter-Dix senior Brooke Moench were named as Honorable Mentions.
For the boy's team, Creek Valley seniors Garrett Sawyer and Sam Grabowski were named to the All-Conference First Team. Sawyer averaged 13 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, while Grabowski averaged 11.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Creek Valley junior Patrick Hansen and Creek Valley sophomore Oakley Hodges were named as Honorable Mentions, along with Potter-Dix junior Terell Gray and Leyton sophomores Zach Henke and Dominic Russ.
