4-H Carnival Set for Saturday

Get ready to have fun, enjoy good food and support the local 4-H programs.

The Cheyenne County 4-H Spring Carnival is scheduled for Saturday, March 16, at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds.

The carnival is planned for 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This year's carnival will include carnival games for children of all ages. Admission to the carnival is free. Game tickets are 10 cents per ticket. Games will include the Fishing Booth, Chicken Flingin', Cake Walk, Bean Bag Throw, Tree Giveaway, Angry Birds, Farm Game-of-Life Obstacle Course, Balloon Corral, Mega Blocks and Face Painting.

In the middle of the games and raffles, the 4-H members will be offering a meal from a menu of Sloppy Joes, hot dogs, “Sloppy Dogs” (hot dog with Sloppy Joe meat on top), taco salad, nachos, beefy nachos and pie.

Participants can also purchase raffle tickets from any 4-H youth or at the Cheyenne County Extension Office. Raffle tickets are one dollar per ticket. Raffle prices include a $10 gift certificate from Aliens and Strangers Music, two $5 gift certificates from Coffee Corner, a $20 gift certificate from Daisies & Dragons, two Steiger Cougar Die Case Repica & Magnum 340 Rowtrac Die-cast replica, $25 gift certificate from House of Flowers, Fiber Combs valued at $60 from Laughing Lamb Fibers, jade amulet necklace from Rust & Roses, wax warmer from Scentsy, $25 gift certificate from Shirt Tales, $25 gift certificate from Sidney Floral & Gift Shop and $25 gift certificate from Triple O's Building Supply.

New this year is a silent auction of services and items donated by local supporters. The silent auction includes items from Cabela's, the Radmacher family, More Than Quilts, Randy's Auto Care, LLC., Sauder's Automotive, Textured Edge Salon and Cowboy Connection.
