Ron was born July 1st, 1941 to Edward and Vivian Maul in Scottsbluff, NE. Ron grew up in Sidney, NE and graduated from Sidney HS in 1959. He joined the Air Force and served our nation for 4 years, and 2 years with the reserves. Ron loved nature, learning and understanding everything about God’s creation. He enjoyed camping, boating, hiking, fishing, and hunting along with making rich memories with family and friends. He read about nature, watched documentaries, and experienced nature; fresh air, running river waters, sounds of the waves on a lake, and the cool nights of camping among the pine trees. Ron truly loved nature but his real love affair began in March of 1964 when he met Barbara Jean Aurich. Ron and Barbara married on December 28th, 1965 at Salem Lutheran Church in Gurley. Ron and Barbara started their family in Nebraska. Years later Ron accepted a Federal Government job as a journeyman lineman supervisor taking them to Arizona. They continued life’s adventure exploring the rims of the Grand Canyon area and logged many hours on Lake Powell viewing Rainbow Bridge, Cookie Jar, Antelope Island, and Gun Sight to name a few. After many years in Arizona, Ron and Barbara returned home to Nebraska to enjoy retirement, family, and friends. Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
