Cheyenne County's first Throwdown Breakfast is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds 4-H Building.
The Throwdown Breakfast is a cook-off competition between county emergency responders. Representatives from local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, ground and air emergency services, 911 Communications, Emergency Management and Sidney Regional Medical Center will compete for honors of cooking the best meal.
The menu will include a variety of breakfast choices and juice and coffee. The public will cast votes on who is the best cooks.
Cost of the event is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Proceeds from the event will help the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) purchase needed equipment. Sidney Police Chief Joe Aikens said before the Sidney City Council Tuesday the plan is to purchase a wall tent. The project was started by Randy Haddix before he died in July 2018.
