The arrival of the first baby of the year caused due excitement this week, as miss Zaira Smay made her appearance Jan. 18.
Unfortunately, in reporting the happy event, the Sun-Telegraph initially spelled Zaira’s first name wrong. We also received conflicting reports on the 10-pound baby’s length. Officially, we got 21 inches, while family members report she was 22-3/4 inches.
Either way, we are happy to hear Zaira and her mother are both healthy as this new chapter begins.
