Robert Wayne Sprengel, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away at the age of 99 on November 27, 2018. Robert (Bob) was born to Lacy and Christine (Olson) Sprengel on January 27, 1919, in York, Nebraska. He was baptized in the Christian faith on March 11, 1919 at the Lutheran Church in Gresham, Nebraska. Robert was inducted in to the United States Army on December 18, 1942. He served with the 914th Ordinance, 3rd Army under General George Patton. He was honorably discharged in January of 1946. He married Mable M. Meyer on February 3, 1949 in Ogden, Utah. They settled on their farm in Lodgepole, Nebraska. They were blessed with 3 daughters and a foster son. The family moved to Lakewood, Colorado in 1962.
Robert is survived by his daughters Jeannie (Ken) Bennington, Robbie (Chris) Stumm, Gail (Rusty) English, grandchildren Gina (Frankie) Reina, Derek (Stacey) Bennington, Lauren (Jason) McCarl, Ryan English and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mable, his parents, brothers Lavern (Vern) and Donald and foster son, Leroy Sanders.
Services: Wheat Ridge Lutheran Church. Military Honors Committal service and burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
