Wheatbelt Public Power District President, Bernie Fehringer, presented the NRECA (National Rural Electric Cooperative Association) Director Gold Credential certificate to director John Gortemaker of Oshkosh at the October Board Meeting.
The Gold Credential is reserved for those directors who have earned their CCD (Credentialed Cooperative Director) and BLC (Board Leadership Certificate), and continue their education beyond those certifications by earning three additional credits, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to advancing their knowledge and performing their fiduciary duty to the best of their ability.
John has been on the Wheat Belt Public Power District's board since January 1 of 2009. John stated he feels, "As a Board member, you should do due diligence, which means improving yourself with continuing education."
