Vitalix, a manufacturer of cooked protein and mineral tub supplements for livestock, has launched its new production facility located north of Sidney ahead of schedule.
On June 22nd, a fire completely destroyed the Vitalix production facility outside Alliance, along with all equipment and contents, forcing major changes and decisions to be made. Vitalix owner, Greg Olson, determined that Sidney would be a great location to move to, offering both rail service and immediate interstate access.
During the rebuild process, Vitalix split orders up among their other US locations, Quincy, WA, and Wilton, IA.
Originally, the company set its goal for start up at the first of December, but just 102 days after the fire, Vitalix announced that the Sidney plant had opened and produced its first batch of tubs. The company started production Oct. 2, just 32 days after moving into a big, beautiful, and empty, building along a rail siding near Sidney.
Vitalix President, Greg Olson said, "Honestly, it's a miracle we could get all that equipment into an empty building and start production in 32 days. If I hadn't been there to see it, I wouldn't have believed it was possible." Olson went on to say, "Some companies would never be able to recover from a tragedy like we (Vitalix) encountered, but due to the efforts of our team, the skills and dedication of many, many people, and our faith in the Lord, we have rebuilt from the ground up, and have come back bigger and stronger than ever before."
With the opening of this new production facility, the company annouced it is also adding to its product line.
Vitalix supplies feed supplements to companies and livestock producers all across the USA and Canada.
