Deadline for Photo Submissions Nov. 17
When a relationship is broken by death, memories linger.
Sometimes the memories are shared as a way to keep the person alive in the heart. It is what draws friends and family together, and strengthens the bond of relationships.
That is part of the intent in the Worldwide Candle Lighting ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 9 in Sidney.
The 13th annual non-denominational event will be held at Evangelical Free Church, 2763 11th Ave., Sidney.
The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting is held on the second Sunday in December. Everyone is invited to light a candle in honor of all the children who have died, so that their light may always shine.
A slide show will be included in the program. For those who have lost a loved one they would like to recognize in the slide show, please provide a photo, no larger than 4 x 6, including your child’s full name, birthday and angel date with the photo.
Photos can be mailed to Deanna Flamig at 2640 Monte Vista Drive, Sidney, Neb., 69162, or email a jpeg file to [email protected] by Nov. 17. Photos submitted last year can be used again unless a new photo is submitted. For families who do not have a photo, but would like their child remembered in the slideshow, send information and a photographic image such as a teddy bear or stuffed animal, an angel or cherub.
Families do not have to attend the Candle Lighting Ceremony for a child to be remembered. For more information, contact Deanna Flamig at 308-249-4620 or 308-249-5043.
