What is the office you are running for? School Board Member – Sidney Public Schools

Why did you choose to run for office? Cindy and I have four children that attended SPS.

To set an example for my children on public service in our local community.

What skills do you have that you will bring to the office? I bring some experience in board leadership, team communication and evaluations of job performance. I strive to get continually better at leading a team-centered organization and to do it with a positive outlook.

What do you hope to accomplish if elected? Having all students gain success by offering a wide variety of classes, experiences in clubs and activities, and approving the hires of excellent district personnel.

What are some challenges you hope to overcome? Budgetary constrictions placed by the state - when prop tax revenues are falling and student population manages to remain steady – having enough resources to meet all student and staff needs.

What are the most important issues to be addressed by your office? Maintain the financial health of the district. Balance student rights and student safety. Maintain policies that are fair, consistent, and offer uniform treatment of students, parents, community members and employees.
