What is the office you are running for? Board of Education-Sidney School District No. 1

Why did you choose to run for office? I thought this would be a great opportunity to give back to my community and school district that helped shape me into the person I am today. 

What skills do you have that you will bring to the office? Most importantly, I will bring an open mind and common sense to this position. I believe listening and teamwork is imperative to the success of any board and I intend to do both. 

What do you hope to accomplish if elected? I hope to continue the fine work that our current board has set in motion while looking for areas where we may be able to improve efficiencies within the district. Keeping student success paramount while working with the superintendent/teachers to make sure we deliver the best education possible for our children. 

What are some challenges you hope to overcome? I have no preconceived ideas or thoughts regarding potential challenges. I just look forward to working with the other board members, staff and community to make sure challenges are answered in an appropriate manner. 

What are the most important issues to be addressed by your office? Obviously, the most important issue to be addressed by a school board is to make sure policies and curriculum are in place that has our children ready for the future. Adopting a budget to make sure taxpayers money is being used efficiently and effectively while being an advocate for our educators and students alike
