Potter-Dix’s Lady Coyote volleyball team traveled on Tuesday and lost their match against the South Platte Lady Blue Knights, then won their second match agains the Bayard Lady Tigers.
The Lady Coyotes battled hard against South Platte, notching an impressive 25-to-17 second set victory after dropping their first set 25-to-18 against the Lady Blue Knights. In the third set, the Lady Coyotes could not overcome the powerful South Platte team, falling 25-to-10 for a two sets to one loss. Potter-Dix sophomore Kelsey Hoffman had 12 kills in the contest.
Potter-Dix rebounded in their second match, outdistancing Bayard in a hard fought match. The Lady Coyotes took the first set 25-to-18, while the Lady Tigers stormed back in the second set winning 25-to-19 to set up a deciding third set. The Lady Coyotes played hard, and despite a strong effort from Bayard, were able to take the set from the Lady Tigers 25-to-22 for a 2-to-1 match victory. Seniors Ciera George and Brooke Moench both had 12 digs in the victory for Potter-Dix.
