Sidney’s Lady Raider freshman volleyball squad traveled to Scottsbluff on Monday and Tuesday to compete against Scottsbluff, Mitchell, Gering, and Alliance in a 9th grade tournament competition.
Sidney won all of its’ matches, earning top honors.
Sidney started off the first day by defeating Alliance, starting out by dropping the first set 21-to-25, but then rebounding to take the next two sets 25-to-19 and 15-to-10 to earn the victory. They next faced Mitchell, and won in straight sets 25-to-14 and 25-to-11 to end the first day of the competition.
On Tuesday, Sidney first faced Gering and earned the victory in straight sets 25-to-19 and 25-to-20.
The final match of the tournament pitted Sidney versus host Scottsbluff, and after two very competitive and hard fought sets, the Sidney team earned the win, taking straight sets from the Lady Bearcats 25-to-22 and 26-to-24 to win the match and go undefeated for the tournament.
