Peetz Volleyball Seeks First Win

Peetz's Lady Bulldog volleyball team has struggled to open their season, working hard to come together as a team while searching for the correct formula to translate their efforts into wins. On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs hosted rival Fleming and came up short, losing in three sets to the visiting Lady Wildcats.

In the first two sets, Fleming was able to pull away quickly from Peetz and won both sets by a final of 25-to-10. In the third set, the Lady Bulldogs were able to keep the score close in the beginning stages of the set, until Fleming opened a 6-to-3 lead and pulled away from Peetz, ending the third set with a score of 25-to-11 and the match victory.

On Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to take on Bethune, Cheyenne Wells, and Arickaree/Woodlin in tournament play, and were unable to secure a win on the road. First, the Lady Bulldogs faced Bethune, and lost the first set with a lopsided 25-to-8 final. But the girls regrouped and battled in the second set, coming close to beating Bethune but ultimately falling short 25-to-21 to fall in straight sets to Bethune. Next the girls faced Cheyenne Wells and fell behind early, eventually losing in two straight sets 25-to-12 and 25-to-6. Peetz ended the tournament against Arickaree/Woodlin, giving it their all for a win but ultimately coming up short in two hard-fought sets, losing 25-to-15 and 25-to-23 to end the tournament, and still in search of their first win. Peetz was scheduled to travel to Weldon Valley on Tuesday to face the Lady Warriors.
