On Friday night, the Sidney High School community showed their support for the volleyball and football teams with a great turnout for the teams' scrimmages, while the cross-country team hosted a fundraiser in the parking lot prior to the football action.
A delicious selection of food for purchase was available with all proceeds going to support the cross country team, which has their first varsity competition at the Panhandle Classic in Scottsbluff on August 23.
The volleyball team held a scrimmage at 5:30 in the Cabela's Athletic Center at Sidney High School, working through their sets and strategies in anticipation of the upcoming season.
Seniors Katelyn Sylvester, Makenna Douglas, Peyton Jung, and Macie Rolls lead the team into the 2018 season with their first varsity match against North Platte on August 30.
The football team held their annual intra-squad scrimmage later in the evening to the cheers of the Sidney faithful. The red team and the black team alternated through sets of plays while the team gears up for its' season opener on the road against Bridgeport on August 24.
The Sidney girls Golf Team opened its' season on Tuesday with the Sidney Invite at Hillside Golf Club.
