Mary Lou Heins, age 83 of Sidney, NE passed away at Rapid City Regional in Rapid City, SD on June 28, 2018.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, August 22nd at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney. Cremation has taken place. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Tuesday, August 21st from 1 to 4:00 P.M. with family present. Mary Lou Heins was born on September 18, 1933 in Sidney, NE to Elmer and Hazel (Shindle) Chaon. She grew up and attended school in Brownson, NE and graduated from Sidney High School. On July 3, 1967, Mary Lou was married to the love of her life, Lee Paul Heins, in Sidney. They celebrated over 40 years of marriage together.
Mary Lou loved spending time with her family. She loved gathering around the table for meals and games. Her door was always open and she accepted people for who they were with open arms. She was always up for an adventure and had a laugh that warmed hearts. She loved being outdoors and of course Nebraska football.
Survivors include her son, Bruce Woodward of Maryville, MO; grandsons, Ryan Woodward and wife Kristin, Kevin Woodward and wife Haley, Travis Woodward and wife Sarah; granddaughter Michelle Woodward; extended family members; Judy and Lynn Cond, Hank Radke and wife Christine, Alice Chaon, Larry Chaon and wife Cindy, and David Chaon; 12 great grandchildren, and many others.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband Lee Paul Heins; sons Alan and Craig Woodward; grandson Nathan Woodward; and brothers Donald, Earl, and Leroy Chaon.
