Local Job's Daughters Excel at State

Job's Daughters International, Bethel #25 of Sidney competed in their annual state competition "Dream Big, Sparkle More, Shine Bright" Grand Session in Lincoln in June. Young ladies from the Sidney area who competed were: Amanda Beier, Janessa Carley, Josie Dowse, Grace Draper, Autumn Hartwig, Raina Hartwig, and Ginny Herboldsheimer.

Bethel #25 took first place in Team Signing, signing "Nearer My God to Thee." Bethel #25 Sidney combined with Bethel #12 Kimball to compete in the Traditional Team Ritual Competition and took third place for a large bethel. Bethel #25 also received the Bethel of Distinction award.

In individual competitions, the girls placed as follows –

Amanda Beier placed second in First Messenger Senior Division and won two awards for her entries in the Arts and Crafts Competition.

Janessa Carley took second place in the Senior Division for: Honored Queen, Fourth Messenger & JDI Knowledge Test. Janessa was installed as a Daughter HIKE Coordinator for the upcoming year.

Grace Draper placed third in Obligation. She also won an award in the Arts and Crafts Competition.

Raina Hartwig won four awards for her entries in the Arts and Crafts Competition.

Ginny Herboldsheimer won first place in First Messenger Senior Division, earning her a position on the Nebraska Supreme Team. She also placed first in the JDI Knowledge Test in the Intermediate Division, placed second in the Story of Job Senior Division, won an award in the Arts and Crafts Competition, received her Exemplary Leadership Award, and was installed as Grand Bethel Representative for the upcoming year.

Job's Daughters International is a girl's leadership organization founded here in Nebraska with membership in the United States, Canada, Australia, the Philippines and Brazil. Job's Daughters is open to young women ages 10-20. Members enjoy fun, friendship, helping others, and the chance to learn some great life skills.
