It was a beautiful early spring day for the Sidney Invitational Golf Tournament held at Hillside Golf course in Sidney.
As the day progressed, it became clear that top honors were going to fall to either Scottsbluff or Sidney, and by the end of the round, a winner had still not been determined as the two teams finished in a tie, 332-332. This prompted a one-hole playoff that Scottsbluff was able to win, earning the team first place honors for the tournament.
Scottsbluff was first with a score of 332 while Sidney took second, also with a 332. Gering placed third with a score of 355, Laramie placed fourth with a score of 366, Ogallala placed fifth scoring 417, and Chadron placed sixth with a score 433.
Individually, there were outstanding performances despite the windy conditions. Tate Noble of Laramie had the low round of the day with a 76, edging Sidney’s Connor Dormann by two strokes.
For the Sidney team, Connor Dormann shot a 78, Jake Burke shot an 84, Cole Westfall shot an 83, Jackson Witt shot a 92, and Cayden Jobman shot an 87. Dormann, Westfall, and Burke all finished in the top ten in the individual standings for the round.
