Kids Korner Preschool teacher Callie Schilz points out a forming embryo to student Jaxon Ford while classmate Reed Black looks over his shoulder while candling incubated eggs. Candling involves shining a bright light behind the egg to see the shadow of the embryo to determine if the eggs were "winners with developing embryos, quitters that started and stopped development or yolkers that never started development." Nebraska Extension Educator Cynthia Gill has been visiting the classroom to help with incubating chicken eggs and to teach about life cycles. The eggs should hatch before Easter....
