Laura "Darlene" Hradecky, 76, a lifetime Sterling resident passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in Sterling. A memorial service was held Saturday, February 17 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Rev. Jared Sonnenberg officiating.
Darlene was born March 9, 1941 in Sterling, Colorado to Margaret McGuffey. Laura married Bernard "Bernie" Hradecky on August 28, 1973 in Gillette, Wyoming. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. Darlene enjoyed Bingo, fishing, camping and the Denver Broncos. Her role as a mother and grandmother was the most important to her. This is where she would draw her strength from and it was how she left her legacy. Being with her family is what Darlene loved the most.
She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret; husband Bernard; son Kevin Dorsett; daughter Brenda Davis and granddaughter Heather Hradecky.
Darlene is survived by her children, Laura (Greg) Schmidt of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Audrey Mix of Sterling, CO, Earl Dorsett of Sterling, CO, Jimmy Dorsett of Atwood, CO, Judy (Clint) Petersen of Sidney, NE, Peggy Stettner (Shae Gartner) of Sidney, NE, Bob Hradecky of Iliff, CO, Al (Kelly) Hradecky of Los Angeles, CA, James (Lori) Hradecky of Lincoln, NE, Bernard Hradecky III of Peetz, CO and Tim Bruce of Delta, CO; brother Eugene McGuffey of Sterling, CO; numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
