Hester A. Smith, age 82 of Sidney, NE passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Sidney Care and Rehabilitation Center.
A Celebration of Life will be on Monday, February 12th from 4-6:00 P.M. at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel with family present. Cremation has been held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family for future designation. Hester Ann Smith the daughter of Herman and Gladys (Street) Pooschke, was born on October 11, 1935 in Lincoln County, NE. On July 26, 1957, Hester was united in marriage to Duane R. Smith in Sidney. Hester worked at various locations in the Sidney area before joining the Cabela's Purchasing Department. She retired after more than thirty years of dedicated service.
Survivors include her daughter: Lynn Namuth and husband Michael of Sidney; grandchildren: Brandi Johnson and fiancé Chance Greenlee of Loveland, CO and Gregory Namuth of Sidney; great-grandchildren: Dylan Namuth of Columbus, MT, Ella Johnson of Loveland and McKendree Greenlee of Loveland; her siblings: Ivan Pooschke of Stapleton, NE and Phyllis Pooschke-Neel of Cheyenne, WY.
Hester was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Virgil and Paul Pooschke.
