Potter-Dix Boys Drop Two Against Garden, Sedgwick

The Potter-Dix Coyotes (2-13, 2-5 in district) continued their season-long struggle by losing against Garden County at home on Friday, then traveling to Julesburg, CO on Saturday and losing to Sedgwick.

Both losses were by 30-plus points, and the Coyotes were plagued by slow starts and poor shooting in both contests.

On Friday, the Coyotes hosted the Garden County Eagles (11-5, 7-1 in district) and were quickly overwhelmed by the Eagles’ high-scoring offensive attack. By the half, the Coyotes trailed 40-13 and never challenged for the lead. The third quarter continued in similar fashion, with the visitors outscoring the Coyotes 15-3, and Garden County played its substitutes for the rest of the contest, coasting to a 62-25 victory.

Saturday had Potter-Dix traveling to Julesburg, CO to face the Sedgwick Cougars (14-2, 4-1 in league) and had similar results. Another poor start had the Coyotes playing from behind for most of the game, and the Cougars powerful offense had no trouble scoring against the struggling Coyotes. The Cougars cruised to an easy victory by a final score of 55-20.

Potter-Dix were set to play the undefeated Peetz Bulldogs on Tuesday.
