Pre-School and Pizza

What better way to hold childrens' attention than with one of their favorite foods?

For the past six years, local preschool, Wild About Preschool, has been welcomed into the Sidney Pizza Hut for a field trip and given the special experience of touring the back kitchen.

This year, as in years past, general manager, Connie Hilliker, has given the children the tour and once again it proved to be an experience that the children will not soon forget.

Upon walking through the doors, the preschool group was welcomed with warm smiles from the kind employees. The children were led back to the kitchen where they all took turns washing their hands in preparation of making their own personal pizzas. Employees helped the children measure out the ingredients and spread it on the dough as it was prepared to be baked.

As the children anxiously awaited their pizzas to come out of the oven, they were taken on a tour of the walk-in freezer and cooler. The experience was met with giggles, mention of the freezing temperatures and hugs for one another to warm each other up.

Soon after, it was announced that the mini pizzas were cooked and boxed up for each of the kids. The children excitedly lined up to be given their box and as they carried their pizzas back to their table to devour, there was pride on each of their faces knowing that they had taken part in creating it.
