Elsie Mae Nettles, age 85 of Sidney, NE passed away in Sidney, on December 24, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, December 29th in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Mr. Wes Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 3-7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family for future designation. Elsie resided in the Sidney area for over 25 years. She was born in Lawson, CO and raised in Idaho Springs but spent over a decade in Watertown, NY before returning to Colorado. Elsie was a Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and friend. She was smart, stubborn, and the type of woman who would say exactly what she thought. Elsie was a devout Jehovah's Witness for over 50 years. She was devoted to her family, her faith and will be missed by many. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband: Clarence Nettles, of Watertown, NY; sister: Vivian Hauser; brother: Warren Ladd and her half-sisters: Margaret and Mildred. She is survived by her four children: David Nettles (Bessie), Connie Hughes (Don). Deborah Minshall and Steven Nettles; five grandchildren: Amy Andrews (Ed), Lynette Braun (Phil), Shawn Nettles, Ashley Hughes (Vince), and Shea Hughes and three great-grandchildren: Lorissa, Lily and Eleanor.
