The Leyton Warriors are starting the 2017-2018 basketball season with an uphill climb.
The boys lost to the Crawford Rams on Saturday, Dec. 2, 52-12, and to Bayard on Friday, Dec. 1, by 68-23.
Friday’s game was a defensive contest with neither team contributing to the score board in the second half. Leyton scored five points in the first quarter and 18 in the second, while Bayard scored 27 in the first and 41 in the second for a 68-23 game.
Leyton then played Crawford Saturday in Crawford. Leyton was kept to single digits in each of the four quarters — three, two, six and one — while Crawford earned 13 in the first, 18 in the second and 14 in the fourth before getting stopped at seven in the fourth quarter.
Leyton travels to Peetz on Thursday, Dec. 7. Leyton will enter the game with an 0-2 record while Peetz has a 2-0 record.only earning nine points while Mithell gained another 11.
Mitchell earned 10 in the third and fourth periods while Sidney scored five in the third and 14 in the fourth.
