Sidney native Tyler Miller has been chosen as a Heartland Escort at the AKSARBEN Coronation & Scholarship Ball for 2017. The ball will be held Saturday at the Omaha Baxter Arena in AKSARBEN Village.
According to information from the AKSARBEN Foundation, the AKSARBEN Coronation & Scholarship Ball has a mission of promoting, recognizing and celebrating volunteerism, philanthropy and community pride. It serves as a fundraising vehicle for the AKSARBEN Scholars program and awards over 200 scholarships each year to deserving students in Nebraska and western Iowa.
Miller is currently in his third year of the Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing program at Bryan College of Nursing in Lincoln. He is a member of the Bryan Nurses Association Club, Health Promotions Club, is a Meals on Wheels volunteer, and is vice-president of the Red Cross Club. He is also a Red Cross volunteer, a licensed provider (EMT) for the Cornhusker First Aid Services Team and FAST Medical Documentation Specialist, and a volunteer for the disaster action team for the Red Cross.
Miller graduated from Sidney High School in 2015. He is the son of Randy and Tracy Miller of Sidney, and the grandson of Kenneth and Frances Miller of Dalton, Paul and Janis Roberts of Sidney and the late Conrad Ribera of Sidney.
