Merino defeats Peetz

PEETZ — The Merino Lady Rams traveled to Peetz Tuesday to face the Lady Bulldogs in volleyball.

The Lady Rams defeated Peetz in three sets: 25-11, 25-10 and 25-5.

Peetz had three kills from 42 attempts. Senior Kora Hradecky had two from 20 attempts and junior Nicole Burmester had one from seven attempts.

In serving, Peetz had three aces from 28 serve attempts. Hradecky had one ace from five attempts as did senior Abby White, and junior Sarah Davis had one ace from four attempts.

The team also had four blocks in the three sets, all solo blocks by Burmester.

The Lady Bulldogs also had 30 digs in the three sets. White lead the team with 13, followed by Davis and senior Elizabeth Lindahl with four each, juniors Makaela Hill and Kylie Howell had three each, freshman Kayleigh Leek had two and Hradecky had one.

The Lady Bulldogs host Weldon Valley’s Warriors today (Friday, Oct. 20). Weldon Valley enters the match with a 9-7 record while Peetz stands at 1-17. Peetz last played Weldon Valley on Sept. 28. Peetz came within five points in the first set, then losing ground in the second and third set, falling to Weldon Valley.
