David Wolf, Race Coordinator is very excited about this year’s race.

“We are very excited to have Great Western Bank as a title sponsor this year. They are very dedicated to our community and we are thrilled about partnering with them this year,” Wolf said. “Webb Orthodontics is back sponsoring the Little Warrior’s Fun Run this year. Sami and her staff are very dedicated to making this community a better place, and we are delighted they are back for this year’s event.”

Over the past four years, the organization has helped more than 150 veterans and military families with financial assistance to the tune of $75,000. The organization helps with food, gas, electricity, car repairs, rent, medical expenses, and many other basic needs. They also help with higher learning questions, job placement, and has recently held budgeting and money management classes.

Wolf said the organization is strictly volunteer, with more than 95 percent of the money raised going to local veterans and military families. All of the money stays in the panhandle of Nebraska and eastern Wyoming.

The Fun Run will be behind the Legacy of the Plains Museum and will be a 1/2 mile race. The race is free to the kids, and Webb Orthodontics will be providing the t-shirts for the kids. A kids program will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am for children that are running in the fun run or have parents participating in the Warrior Run. The kids will color patrotic themed pictures that will be hung in the veteran’s exhibit in the museum. Participants can pick up their race packets on Friday, Nov. 3, at the Military and Veterans Affairs office at WNCC. The office is located in the Williams Building. Packets will be available from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
