Carletta Ann Burton passed away September 30, 2017 in Weatherford, Texas.
She was born to Carl and Violet Farmer on November 24, 1934, in Denver, Colorado. In March 1944, the family moved to Sioux Ordnance Depot near Sidney, Nebraska. She attended school at Brownson, NE and Sidney, NE, graduating from Sidney High School in 1953. After graduating, she married Robert Branch in Sidney. They had four children from this marriage. Bob was in the U.S.Army, so they lived in a number of places. They were later divorced. She later married Gerald Burton in Lakewood, Colo. He worked for the U.S.Post Office and they lived numerous places, including Mt. View, AR, their favorite place. Jerry passed away from ALS in 2012, but once he was diagnosed with ALS, earlier in 2012, they moved to Weatherford, TX, to be near her children.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald Burton; son, Michael Branch; brother, Duane Farmer and sister, Beverly Nightingale.
She is survived by sister, Wanda Kaduk of Westmont, IL; Carl Farmer Jr. and wife, Jan of Dalton, NE.; Marvin Farmer and wife, Barb of Northfield, MN; Son, Don Branch and wife, Holly of Weatherford, TX; daughter, Theresa Stuhff and husband, Mark of Mineral Wells, TX; daughter, Perri Long of Graford, TX; stepson, Jim Burton and wife, Debbie of Oak Forest, IL; Stepson, John Burton and wife, Erica of Chalis, ID; Step-daughter, Jeri Burton and fiancé, Bruce of Durango, CO; 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to COPD research or ALS research.
