Erdman receives AFP award

GERING - Americans For Prosperity honored Sen. Steve Erdman as a "Champion of Prosperity" Wednesday.

"This year there were 22 votes that we scored and 17 senators from the state earned the designation of Champion of Prosperity, which means you scored 90 percent or above on our scorecard," Matt Litt, AFP-Nebraska state director, said. "Sen. Erdman scored 95 percent."

Erdman described receiving the award as an honor.

"Those people recognize people who fight for the taxpayer and for less government and I am honored to fit in the category," Erdman said.

Erdman said completing his first year as a state senator was "a challenge."

"Someone asked if I was frustrated," he said. "I said no, I'm disappointed, because when you're frustrated you give up, and when you're disappointed you try something different and keep pressing forward, and that's what I'm going to do for the taxpayers of Nebraska."
