Washington, D.C. – Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) congratulated Ethan Nelson of Dalton Wednesday on receiving the Congressional Award Gold Medal.
This annual award is presented by the U.S. Congress to youth across the country who have completed at least 400 hours of community service, 200 hours of both personal development and physical fitness activities, and a four-night expedition or exploration.
"Ethan dedicated hundreds of hours to reaching his goals, and I congratulate him on this achievement," Smith said. "Many of his efforts, including volunteering at the Sidney Public Library and reaching out to nursing home residents through music, had a positive impact on Nebraskans and demonstrated his commitment to good citizenship."
