The City of Sidney is working to bring jobs in the information technology industry to the community.
“We sent a marketing collateral piece to about 50 data and I.T. contacts we received from the target marketing consultant team,” Melissa Norgard, economic development director, said. “I’m going to be following up with calls to all of them this week.”
Sidney is well-suited for the I.T. industry, Norgard said, with abundant electricity and water resources and a “great fiber network.”
The marketing packages include information about Sidney’s location, its average temperatures and weather conditions, and details on its resources.
“We also included what incentive packages would be eligible under the LB840 and also state programs they can use to incentivize them to come here,” Norgard said.
The city will also pursue attracting agri-business and food manufacturing industries to Sidney.
