Donna Mae (Florke) Worster - Obituary

Donna Mae (Florke) Worster, age 84, of Lodgepole, NE, peacefully passed away on April 2, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Donna was born August 12, 1932, to William H. and Elizabeth (Nunn-Thompson) Florke, at Dalton, NE. She grew up on her father's homestead north of Lodgepole, NE and she later attended high school in Sidney, NE.

Donna married Raymond L. Worster on May 21, 1950. They worked together at the Florke farm until they eventually settled in Sidney in 1964 where they raised their children. They moved to an acreage south of Colton, NE in 1974 and established Ray's Welding which they ran together until 2002 when they retired and returned to Lodgepole. Donna, a homemaker, and devoted mother, also worked as the receptionist for Dr. Roberta Wright in the 80's and as the secretary at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in the 90's.

Donna was very proud of her family and loved hosting the holidays in her beautiful home. She was an avid antique collector. Family history was always important and she made sure her family knew their roots.

Donna is survived by her husband Raymond and 3 daughters, Jacqueline Borges of Lodgepole, Rhonda & Kenneth Holbrook of Windsor, CO, and Luanne & Marty Bobo of Thornton, CO, and she was loving "Grandma" to Raymond Borges, Stacey (Dave) Nelson, RaeJean (Kevin) Communal, Ashley (Nicholas) Garcia, Rayce Bobo, and Zane (Brittny) Bobo, also six great-grandchildren, Rachell & Zachary Borges, Kiersten Communal, Cael Garcia, and Zailie & Couper Bobo.

We didn't just lose a wife, mother, and a grandmother; we lost the rock upon which our family was built. She was our voice of reason in an uncertain world. She was our source of unconditional love when things were tough. Her wisdom will stay with us as we go on, embodied in her values, faith, and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary E. Bruce and three step- siblings John Thompson, Leo Thompson and Katherine Dent.

In accordance with Donna's wishes cremation will take place and there will be no services. A family memorial service and inurnment will take place at a later time at W north of Lodgepole.
