According to an accident report, a black four door Dodge Neon driven by Michelle L Marlatt-Arledge, 51, of Lodgepole, was struck when she attempted to make an illegal u-turn.
The accident happened on Link17J at Pole Creek Crossing in Sidney at approximately 5:59 a.m. on Friday Jan. 27. Marlatt-Arledge’s car was struck by a 2003 semi-truck driven by Issac J. Gonzales of Scottsbluff.
According to the report, Marlatt-Arledge was traveling south on Link 17J in the west lane when she attempted to make an illegal U-turn crossing in front of the east, south bound lane in front of Gonzales, who was traveling south in the east lane.
The semi struck Marlatt-Arledge’s vehicle on the driver’s side lifting and spinning vehicle
and forcing the semi off the road and into a field jackknifing the truck before coming to a stop.
The report stated that Marlatt-Arledge’s vehicle was totaled and there was a large amount of debris on the concrete surface, from the accident. Marlatt-Arledge was transported to Sidney Regional Medical Center for head injuries.
