A Sidney man was in County Court Tuesday on three counts of visual depiction of a sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a Class 2A Felony.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) received information that child pornography had allegedly been traced and downloaded to an IP address linked to Daniel Konruff of Sidney.
Pursuant to the search warrant, a phone belonging to Konruff was sized. The phone allegedly contained three videos containing child pornography.
In the affidavit from Oct. 11, 2016, NSP Investigator Dean Christensen went to Konruff’s home in Sidney. During his interview, Konruff stated that he did not have a computer, that he only used his phone. Konruff went on to describe how his phone was hacked and that spam was received and sent and received off of his email.
According to the affidavit, Christensen dumped the phones file system into a folder on his forensic computer, where he later allegedly found 20 images of child pornography.
The order for arrest was issued on Jan. 17.
On Tuesday Konruff’s case was continued, with a continuance date yet to be set. Konruff is currently being held in the Cheyenne County Jail on $100,000 bond.
