Mickie M. Calahan, age 65 of Sidney, NE passed away at her home, Sunday, December 25, 2016.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 30th. Rosary services will be held at 10 a.m. prior to Mass. Both services will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Cremation has been held. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday to sign Mickie’s register book and drop off condolences for the family. Michealene M. “Mickie” Calahan, the daughter of Michael and Josephene (Ahern) Zen, was born on March 19, 1951 at Sterling, CO. She attended St. Anthony’s and graduated from St. Anthony’s High School. Mickie attended NJC for two years. On July 9, 1972 she was united in marriage to Patrick Calahan in Sterling. They made their home in Sidney where Mickie worked at Security First Bank for twenty-seven years. She was active in St. Patrick’s Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and the Crusin Class Car Club Rod and Roll Show. Mickie was an avid UNL Volleyball Fan and enjoyed following Sidney Red Raider and Peetz Bulldogs Sports and attended many of the events.
Survivors include her husband: Patrick of Sidney; son: Mark and wife Jennifer and their children: Cohen, Kadence and Benson of Rising City, NE; son: Scott and wife Rachelle and their children: AnnaLivia, MacIntyre and Behrick of Littleton, CO; mother-in-law: Shirlee Calahan of Sidney; brother: Robert Zen of Ray, OH and numerous extended family members and friends.
Mickie was preceded in death by her mother and father: Mike and
Josie Zen and an infant brother: John Anselo Zen.
