Bruce R. Johnson, age 64 of Dalton, NE passed away at his home Sunday, December 11, 2016.
Cremation has been held. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family. Bruce Ried Johnson, the son of Donald Arvid and Eileen (Chubko) Johnson, was born on May 23, 1952 at Berwyn, IL. He lived in the Chicago area until moving to Nebraska when he started working for the Union Pacific Railroad. In the course of his career he was a Yard Helper, Yard Foreman, Yard Master, Conductor, Teacher, and then retired as an Engineer in 1998.
Bruce loved to ride his motorcycle and especially enjoyed the trips to Sturgis with fellow railroaders he had worked with. He took great pride in his yard and garden always sharing the extra after baking various pies and breads from the bounty. Always ready to lend a helping hand he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne, sons Brandon and Jason, stepson Paul and stepdaughter Sherri, (7) grandchildren, Asypyn, Hope, Faith, Kaleb, Grace, Holden and Decker, brother Craig, sister-in law Linda, nephew Dan and niece Karen.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Donald Johnson and Eileen Johnson.
