Students learn about government

Area students gathered at the Cheyenne County Court House Monday, learning more about the duties and responsibilities of various county officials.

County Government Day, in Nebraska, was started by the American Legion to provide high school students with the opportunity to learn about how their local government works.

Sidney, Creek Valley, Leyton and Potter-Dix Juniors participated in the event, first gathering in the Cheyenne County District Court room to introduce themselves and meet county officials.
