Sidney High School (SHS) students gather to celebrate and learn about different cultures, through discussions presentations and cultural events, in Sidney’s newest high school group the Culture Club.
One’s culture can play a big role in who they are and who they become and culture can be expressed in many ways from the food a family prepares to traditions they follow.
Two SHS students partnered with Spanish and Human Development teacher, Brett Avila to create Culture Club, a unique group that learns and educates others on multiple cultures from around the world.
Emmalea Bush and Etta Sherman, co-founded Culture Club to open minds, educating fellow students about other cultures in a fun way.
Culture Club participants hold events once a month to celebrate different cultures. The events have presentations, music and food from the culture the group is studying that month.
